Nice! I love how it's still distinct that he's holding the sword, but not enough to take the attention away from his face.

I like the expression and the contrast of light and shadow, quick question though:
Do you paint in monochrome first and then apply colours after defining the values or do you just go straight into whatever feels like the right choice of colour?
