One of the kindest characters in my novel, SY'RS.

He is judged by his grim appearance. Generally treated poorly, and deemed untrustworthy. His good deeds are interpreted negatively, even by those closest to him.

Honest, wise, and extraordinarily intelligent, he's forgiving of the harm others cause him, but struggles with his self-esteem. He considers suicide on a regular basis and wishes for peace and equality. His superior abilities in combat protect him from his enemies and those he considers his friends. Hope is one of his least favorite words.
