I agree with those who have commented that this image summarizes the hero's journey that Link's many incarnations undergo. The stillness evoked by the tenseness of the pose and the color scheme creates a contrasting kind of frozen intensity. This image captures all the moments of ferocity and struggle, focusing them into the posture at the tip of the sword's edge, just before a strike.
